ACHPER Tasmania State Conference 2016 and Awards

Intended Audience: All Primary, Secondary and Senior Secondary Health and Physical Education Teachers and Professionals

Registrations and award nominations for the 2016 ACHPER State Conference, "Moving into tomorrow", to be held in Launceston at the University of Tasmania on the 9th September, are now open.

There are over 20 concurrent sessions available covering a variety of topics and aimed at teachers from all sectors. Conference highlights include:
  • Gymnastics skills sessions
  • Fitness and athlete development
  • Mindfulness
  • Inquiry and engagement in Health
  • Inquiry in HPE
  • Digital technology and innovation in HPE
A selection of local and national presenters will be involved in this high quality event. As part of the registration process the first 130 delegates registered will receive a free fitbit flex with all conference delegates being able to access discounts and resources for their schools from key organisations.

Dr Shane Pill is the Keynote speaker for the conference and his focus will be on the role of critical inquiry and problem solving in an understanding by design approach to curriculum development.
