English as an Additional Language EAL Strategies for Teachers Assistants Working with Newly Arrived EAL Students

Intended Audience: This half-day program is designed specifically for teacher assistants working with students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

This program provides teacher assistants with a brief overview of what it means to work in a culturally safe and inclusive classroom. The program will cover general language principles which will guide teacher assistants in their collaboration with the EAL student's classroom teacher and some tips and strategies to use when working with EAL students in the classroom.
