Intended Audience: Staff caring for students in years 1-8

This year WILPF Tasmanian Branch will again hold a competition for Tasmanian students to help them think about peace as a choice in a way of behaving and living, rather than violence. We are hoping that students will work in groups, rather than on their own.

We have named the competition – Peace-building .
There will be two main sections –
  • Drawings, paintings and posters; and
  • Essays and poetry.
There will be three class ranges – years 1-3, 4-6 and 7-8. We are providing a $200 prize to each winner's school in each category and certificates to all winners and second place-getters.

Her Excellency the Hon. Professor Kate Warner AM will host a prize-giving ceremony at Government House at 11 a.m. on, Wednesday 21 September 2016, the United Nations Day of World Peace .
