Mornington Park Waste Transfer Station is again inviting southern Tasmanian schools to participate in an exciting educational opportunity. Over the past few years we have had many schools join in this program, with over 1000 students participating.
The Mornington Park Waste Transfer Station, located at 126 Mornington Road, is a waste management and recycling facility designed to maximise recycling and minimise landfill. Unlike other waste disposal sites, our transfer station is not a landfill, but an integrated waste management facility designed to minimise the disposal of valuable resources.
The company is enthusiastic about educating children and young people on the importance of recycling for the future of Tasmania's environment and are offering free school tours of the waste transfer station, where students can learn how to contribute to environmentally sustainable recycling practices. The interactive sessions will show students how the transfer station works to preserve our natural environment by recycling green waste, whitegoods, glass and plastics, paper, gas bottles, batteries and all types of metal.
