As the school year quickly approaches - please think about providing PD for Visual Art. I am, after 37 years of teaching grade 2-6, 3 years as DOE Visual Art consultant, 3 years seconded to U TAS - School of education - Visual art lecturer full time; now a private visual art EDUCATION consultant. I have begin this after retiring 4 years ago. I am willing to travel state wide for very reasonable charges less than a relief teacher- plus expenses I am located in Shearwater.

After doing 4 after school sessions and 1 night session with the staff at Trevallyn Primary School last year, I am convinced that tailoring the program of PD to needs of the school and providing a practical, sequential, skills based PD program - that is grounded in pedagogy and using the principles of the National and State Curriculum Frameworks - I can make a change for the better for the children, teachers, and school's visual art program.

This has impacts on the children's other areas of learning and parental expectations and can foster an exciting interaction with all three stakeholders - children parents and the school/staff. Have a wonderful year Phone me on 0409935560. I would enjoy speaking to your at any time. I am especially concerned with the lack of PD provided for the Visual Arts over the last 20 years - especially in ECE and Primary Schools. Kind regards Kim (MR.) I AM Also a councillor for the Tasmanian Art Teachers Association.
