Barbie Kjar is a Tasmanian artist and has completed a Masters of Fine Art, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Education. She has undertaken numerous international residencies, had solo exhibitions and group exhibitions in Australia and over seas, is held in private collections around the world, as well as having work in public collections including the Australian National Gallery, National Gallery of Victoria and TMAG. Most recently, Barbie won the 2015 Bay of Fires Art Prize, was a Judge of the 2015 RACT Insurance Tasmanian Portraiture Prize and a facilitator of the 2015 Barkly Artist Camp.

In this workshop Barbie will guide us in drawing objects from TMAG's collection including a range of wild-life specimens, demonstrating various ways of drawing from life including ink, charcoal and pastel.
