Date: 7 September - 16 October 2015
Location: Devonport

Intended Audience: Secondary & Tertiary Students

We invite teachers and their students to attend Devonport Regional Gallery to view our exhibition, Tara Badock Hunt Nature Birth, 2015 Solo Commission.

Through the presentation of various textile-based artworks, Tasmanian artist Tara Badcock's Solo Commission Hunt Nature Birth examines the dualities of motherhood and working as an artist. Her contemporary soft sculptures highlight physical and emotional changes and challenges inherent in motherhood.

Students will be guided through the exhibition by Gallery staff engaging in thought provoking discussion about the works, materials, themes and artistic intent.

We will be addressing the following key components of the Visual Art Curriculum:
• Using skills, techniques and processes
• Using codes and conventions
• Interpreting and appraising the works of others
• Making aesthetic choices
• Reflecting cultural, social and historical contexts

Floor talks are provided free when visiting the Gallery. We recommend visits last for a minimum of 30 minutes. To book your class visit please contact the Gallery.    Picture
