Join us for a healthy and inspirational breakfast event to celebrate girls in sport!

Womensport and Recreation Tasmania Inc. (WSRT) is the leading voice for women and girls in sport and recreation in Tasmania. We advocate and campaign for increased participation opportunities, recognition and rewards for females in sport, delivering programs and services that enhance equity, broaden choice, develop leadership skills, and celebrate the contributions and achievements of women and girls in sport and active recreation. Like you, we are vitally interested in encouraging young girls to be healthy and active from an early age, and we believe that good role models and regular motivation help us to achieve this.

On Friday 23 October 2015, WSRT will host the first Launceston Tasmania School Girls' Breakfast to be held at Aurora Stadium. I write to invite girls from Grades 7-12 from your school or sports club to join us for a light healthy breakfast to hear from amazing motivational speakers and special guests as we explore and share some of the challenges we all face in making healthy lifestyle choices.

The Breakfast will explore such themes and topics as:
  • Developing leadership potential and strategies for achieving success
  • Rising to meet challenges and developing resilience
  • Personal empowerment and motivation
  • The importance of positive role models, mentoring and coaching
  •  Creating a positive relationship with physical activity
  •  Challenging gender stereotypes
  •  Career pathways and opportunities
We would encourage each group to be accompanied by yourself, a parent, or a teacher from your school perhaps the PE teacher or a female sports coach to share the experience.

We look forward to your support for this wonderful community event and to your personal participation if that's possible. Attending the Breakfast is the perfect way to complement your school leadership development programs and provide an opportunity to meet some of our sporting greats!

We realise this is a busy time of year as schools prepare for holidays, so save the date and talk to your staff about this exciting opportunity. This is a popular event and places fill quickly - please book early to avoid disappointment. Register your interest at admin@wsrt.org.au or call mobile 0438 611 240.  FLYER     LOGO
