The Royal Australian Air Force is hosting a Flight Camp for young women over the period 28 Sep - 02 Oct 2015. This camp is part of a broader Air Force program aimed at increasing the participation of women in Air Force Aviation and Engineering roles. The camps have proven a very successful model with respect to providing young women who have an interest in aviation and/ or engineering the opportunity to experience Air Force life and gain an understanding of what type of roles they would be able to fulfill in the future. As a result of these camps we have had a number of young women commence training at the Australian Defence Force Academy.

One of the best aspects of attending the camp is the ongoing mentoring relationship that occurs should any of the attendees elect to pursue an Air Force career. This is the first time we have hosted a camp in Tasmania however we have hosted a number in the past in QLD, SA and VIC. The attached flyer provides details of the event and how to apply. I seek your assistance in distributing the flyer to any of your members who may be interested in attending. The event is also listed on the Royal Australian Air Force facebook page under upcoming events. There is nil cost to participate but parents are responsible for getting their children to an from Hobart.
