Music therapy has important clinical outcomes for children & families living with a range of neurological conditions. This presentation is designed to explain the benefits of music therapy for families and professionals looking for positive outcomes for their children and clients.
With reference to evidence based research, this presentation will describe how music is processed in the brain, what is involved in the treatment and process of music therapy, as well as potential outcomes for children and families.
What is music therapy? What does the research say about clinical outcomes in music therapy? Using case examples, we will explore how music therapy can improve engagement, verbal & nonverbal communication, social & emotional development, self expression, coping strategies, sensori-motor functioning and family relationships.
