"Cancer in the School Community-a guide to staff members" is a fantastic resource with information on how to support students, colleagues and family members affected by cancer.
It includes practical strategies and information about cancer, grief and support resources. Covering topics such as; Information about Cancer, Talking about Cancer, When a Student, Family Member and/or Staff Member has Cancer, The Bereaved School Community and Finding Further Support.
Cancer Council Tasmania offers a state wide cancer+ program which supports Tasmanian families with a child, adolescent or young adult with cancer, survivors of childhood cancer and the professionals who care for them. The cancer+ coordinator is available for support and information for families impacted by cancer especially when a parent has been diagnosed with cancer.
