Intended Audience: Secondary School Teachers, especially History & Legal Studies

This is an introductory course in International Humanitarian Law (IHL)that addresses:
  • The history of IHL and the development of the Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols;
  • The mandate and activities of the International Red Cross in times of armed conflict; 
  •  How the military apply the rules of war in a combat zone and how IHL can be enforced
