AN INVITATION TO ATTEND THE
2015 ST LUKES HEALTH TASMANIAN SCHOOL GIRLS BREAKFAST

Join us for a healthy and inspirational breakfast event to celebrate girls in sport!

Womensport and Recreation Tasmania Inc. (WSRT) is a small, not for profit organisation advocating, supporting and celebrating women and girls in sport and active recreation. Like you, we are vitally interested in encouraging young girls to be healthy and active from an early age, and we believe that good role models and regular motivation help us to achieve this.

On Friday 31 July 2015, WSRT will host the Tasmania School Girls' Breakfast at Blundstone Arena in Hobart. Tasmanian girls aged 12- 16 years have been invited to join us for a light healthy breakfast as we hear from amazing motivational speakers and to explore and share some of the challenges we all face in making healthy lifestyle choices.

The Breakfast will explore such themes and topics as:

  • Increasing the opportunities, public profile and funding support for women and girls in sport
  • Developing leadership potential and strategies for achieving success
  • Rising to meet challenges and developing resilience
  • Personal empowerment and motivation
  • The importance of positive role models, mentoring and coaching
  • Creating a positive relationship with physical activity
  • Challenging gender stereotypes
  • Career pathways and opportunities
There will also be a fun mini-sports clinic directly after the Breakfast on the Blundstone Arena for the students to try their hand at some new and different sports and recreational activities.

Each school group will be accompanied by a parent, teacher, PE coordinator or a female sports coach to share the experience. Attending the Breakfast is the perfect way to complement existing school leadership development programs, providing students with an opportunity to meet some of our sporting greats!

We look forward to your support for this wonderful community event and to your personal participation if that's possible.
