Intended Audience: Grades 5, 6, 7 & 8

A crash course in making 'zines'! Spiralling out of do-it-yourself and punk culture, 'zines' are the ultimate in self-expression. Featuring special guest zine-artist Laura Kay, this workshop will introduce students to the world of handmade publications and the art of combining words images, illustration and more.

About Laura Kay
Laura Kay is a Hobart-based writer and zine maker with a professional background in youth work. In 2013 she was awarded Hobart youth citizen of the year for her work in women's rights and advocacy, and her feminist print magazine, BettyMag. Laura enjoys supporting people to find their voice through zines.
