Intended Audience: All those interested in the importance of numeracy in life and in finding ways to teach it effectively to adults

Current numeracy levels are a problem for workplaces and society and need special attention. We welcome 26TEN members, supporters, adult literacy practitioners and the general public to an event to highlight this challenge and explore practical responses.

The event will include:

• A focus on real life workplace examples and numeracy teaching tools
• The launch of the 26TEN Year of Numeracy for Adult Literacy Practitioners
• An address by Dave Tout, Manager, Vocational, Adult and Workplace Education Services, Senior Research Fellow, Numeracy and Mathematics at the Australian Council for Educational Research, on the importance of numeracy and how to teach it more effectively.
