Free Hobart Teacher Workshop for Questacon Smart Skills

Intended Audience: Secondary science & technology teachers, plus upper primary teachers

Questacon is hosting a FREE Teacher Workshop in Hobart as part of the Questacon Smart Skills program (jointly funded by the Australian Government and The Ian Potter Foundation). The workshop uses simple every day materials and digital technology to tackle STEM-themed challenges and creative problem solving through hands-on design thinking.

Teacher Workshop, FREE, 90 minutes
4.15-6.00 pm, Thursday 12 March, Hobart venue TBA
Open to teachers participating in Questacon's Smart Skills program and some upper primary or secondary colleagues. Discover what students will experience during the Smart Skills in-school workshop and how digital technology can be incorporated into a hands-on activity.

Teachers may claim attendance at the workshop as teacher-identified training, addressing descriptors from Standard 3 of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (Proficient Teacher level):
  • 3.1 Establish challenging learning goals
  • 3.3 Use teaching strategies
  • 3.4 Select and use resources
