Womensport and Recreation Tasmania Inc (WSRT) is an incorporated, not for profit organisation that campaigns, advocates and delivers services/programs to enhance equity, broaden choice, increase participation and opportunity for women and girls in regular sport and active recreation in Tasmania. We campaign to make physical activity and everyday part of life for women and girls and assist in facilitating the supporting pathways and opportunities in sport and recreation to realise this goal.

We work with partners and stakeholders to break down barriers to participation, and encourage more women and girls into sport and recreational activities and showcase opportunities in the sector. This provides a powerful and positive model to the Tasmanian community of what women and girls can do and achieve in sport.

WSRT are excited to be hosting the inaugural Women in Sport Leadership Conference 2014 and School Girls' Breakfast in Hobart, 21 November 2014. The Breakfast, Conference and trade show will focus on current and emerging topics and practice in areas relating to the promotion of, access to and safe participation in and growth of sports, physical activity and recreational opportunities for Tasmanian girls and women.

The day starts with a healthy breakfast for schoolgirls Grades 6-10, followed by the Conference. Across both events, delegates will be treated to a fantastic program of speakers and other special guests to explore some key themes facing women and girls in the sports and recreation sector and to celebrate achievement.

Keynote speakers at both events include Olympians Jane Flemming & Dana Faletic, Ellyse Perry (Australian Women's Cricket Team), Emma Highwood (Head of Women's Football, Football Federation Australia), and Robin Banks (Tasmanian Anti-Discrimination Commissioner) among others!

Registrations are now open, so visit the website to find out more information about the Breakfast or the Conference and to register.
