Filmmaking is an exciting, collaborative, creative pursuit and has never been more accessible or affordable. To make good films, however, we need to understand the essentials, using all the tools—and personnel—at our disposal.

We can look for information online but there's nothing better than learning from leading, award-winning filmmakers, including screenwriter Mac Gudgeon (Last Ride, Killing Time), director Nadia Tass (Malcolm, The Big Steal, Amy), cinematographer John Brawley (Puberty Blues, Offspring,Party Tricks), sound designer Craig Carter (Romeo and Juliet, Rabbit Proof Fence, Cut Snake), composer Cezary Skubiszewski (Red Dog, The Sapphires) among others.
As Filmmaking Summer School instructors they deliver a lifetime's knowledge—and insight—into filmmaking and the film industry.

Learn all aspects of practical film production in this intensive summer school. We cover screenwriting, acting and directing, cinematography, production and sound design, editing, digital effects, film music, documentary filmmaking (2 days) and the revolutionary Low- budget/No-budget Filmmaking (2 days).

Fully structured courses available, or you can choose your own sessions.

The summer school is open to media teachers and students, production companies wishing to train staff, photographers wanting to move to the moving image, and anyone wanting to understand and learn all the steps involved in great filmmaking.
