Drug Prevention Resources for Schools

Contact: National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre, UNSW

Intended Audience: All secondary & senior secondary schools

The National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre at the University of New South Wales has been commissioned by the Australian Government Department of Health to develop an illicit drugs resource package for Australian secondary schools as part of the National Drugs Campaign. These have been developed working in collaboration with the National Drug Research Institute, Curtin University.

Each package will contain booklets on illicit drugs and related harms for students, parents and teachers. These booklets will enable parents and teachers to provide credible evidence-based information on illicit drugs to their children and students, and will provide students with accurate information on illicit drugs and ways to prevent related harm and make informed choices. These information booklets have received endorsement from Principals Australia Institute.

The resource packages will be sent to all secondary schools across Australia this term. Electronic copies of the booklets are available online.
