Location: Hobart for statewide

Intended Audience: Years 7-10 teachers of science

Year 7-10 teachers of science are invited to participate in the Term 1 2015 Science by Doing PLC pilot program. Approximately 20 schools will be selected to participate.

For full details, see the attached invitation. In brief, science coordinators will attend a 2 day workshop in Hobart on 19-20 February 2015, and will then run a professional learning community in their school through Term 1, focussing on an aspect of the Science by Doing curriculum units or professional learning modules.

There is no cost to schools for participation. Science by Doing will fund some travel costs for participants from distant locations. Science by Doing does not provide teacher relief.

The Department of Education will trial an online professional learning community for teachers from DoE schools that do not have sufficient science teachers to form their own professional learning community.
