Dear High School and College Teachers,

Please save the date: Junction Arts Festival 10-14 September, 2014

What is Junction Arts Festival?
Junction Arts Festival energises Launceston, Tasmania at the start of spring with five days of playful performances, experiences and happenings that unlock hidden spaces of the city and offer audiences the opportunity to come into close proximity with artists, to observe, participate and create.

Fantastic opportunities for students and teachers
The Festival Team would like as many young people as possible to experience the Festival this year. As the Education Liaison, I gladly assist teaching staff to book your tickets for a class visit at:

   White Rabbit Red Rabbit
   Friday 12 September 2014

Imagine being 29 and unable to leave your country, a rather topical question at the moment. By refusing to do national service, the passport of Iranian writer and playwright Nassim Soleimanpour was cancelled. With White Rabbit, Red Rabbit he wrote and created a play that can navigate the globe in a way that he himself cannot.

White Rabbit, Red Rabbit is an audacious theatrical experiment that will come as a surprise – not least to the actor handed the script the moment they walk on stage. Actor and audience will journey into the unknown together, as they stumble upon the humorous, terrifying and utterly human towards a dissection of the limits of liberty and our own role in ensuring its sanctity. There is no director, no rehearsal, no set and a different actor taking to the stage for each performance.
  • Suitable for ages 15+.
  • Venue Princess Theatre.
  • Admission $10.00 per student. Teachers adult price.
  • An Education Kit for White Rabbit Red Rabbit (linked to the Australian Curriculum) will be available soon.
  • Please click here to make a booking.
Other events recommended for youth (for more details refer to our website or the program attached)
  • Cinema under the Stars on Saturday night.
  • Cypher, a Hip Hop dance performance and workshop on Saturday morning.
  • No Lights No Lycra, a casual free-form dance class in the dark for the pure joy of dancing.
I look forward to hearing from you!

Kind regards,

Nora Jackson  | Education Liaison
