Free Surrealism workshops for art students at TMAG

Intended Audience: Secondary and college level art students

A free program for secondary and college art student groups. Involves an interpretive tour of the exhibition Pat Brassington: Á Rebours lead by an AccessArt Educator. This exhibition is a major survey of one of Australia's most important and influential photo-based artists whose aesthetic language derives from surrealism and cinema reinterpreted through photography. Students can then participate in a hands-on workshop, creating 3D collage constructions that reinforce the aesthetic language of Brassington's work and experiment with key visual devices and concepts from the Surrealist movement.

Program Duration: 1.5hrs
Available: Now until 12 September, between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday
Suitable grades: 7-10 and College
