Inviting expressions of interest and school referrals

The Saver Plus program assists lower income families to save for education costs and build their financial skills, knowledge and confidence. With the help of local schools more families have become aware of the program.

The program services Southern Tasmania from Hobart and surrounds to the Huon and Derwent Valley, Brighton and the Tasman Peninsula.

Here are some ideas of activities schools can take to raise awareness:
  • Run the attached Saver Plus notice in your newsletter.
  • Display Saver Plus information in your front office, including flyers, brochures and posters.
  • Identify and refer families who may be struggling to afford school costs.
  • Invite me to speak to parents at a morning tea or deliver a free information session about the program.
  • Utilise other communication methods within the school, such as text messaging parents to inform families who could benefit from the program, and promoting on school Facebook pages.
If you require any further information or material to distribute to parents please call or email Nicole Hacker - Program Coordinator.
