Robot Soccer Workshop

Contact: Bob Elliott, Robotics Tasmania
e:   w:

Dates & locations:
Ulverstone- April 9; Launceston- April 10; Hobart- April 12          RSVP by 8 April

Intended Audience: Teachers and students interested in competing in Robocup Jr.

For all those educators/students interested in robotics there will be a series of workshops on how to build and program soccer robots for Robocup Jr.

The main purpose of these workshops is to help students with minimal experience in robotics to move to the challenge of soccer. However, these workshops are accessible to absolute beginners. These workshops are a good way to get key students excited about the possibilities of RoboCup Junior, via hands-on experience guided by an expert robotics educator.

We are lucky to have Brian Thomas coming down to lead the workshops. He has a wealth of knowledge about Robocup Jr. soccer robots: Brian was founding chair of RoboCup Junior International and developer of RCJ Soccer and GEN Ii Soccer. He has given excellent soccer workshops in Tasmania in the past. The workshops are open to teachers, students and the public for a nominal fee of $10: pre-registration required by contacting Robotics Tasmania at
