"Beyond the Word List:
A thinking and Inquiry Approach to Teaching Spelling"

If we want our students to be active and engaged learners who question, think, inquire and monitor their own learning and progress, we need to both equip them with the knowledge and skills to do this and to model these approaches through our teaching and pedagogy.

This practical workshop will focus on approaches for teaching spelling using inquiry, problem solving and investigation to enable students to learn and apply a range of transferable strategies.

Participants will have the opportunity to view and use examples of spelling tasks and will leave with a selection of practical activities and processes that can be used immediately in classrooms.
