Student Bus Travel 2014- Are you ready?

Intended Audience: Government & non-Government School Admin Staff - Newsletter information for Parents/Carers on student bus travel

All students who travel on bus services where fares are paid need to have a Student Greencard or Smart Card. If you have a valid Student Greencard or Smart Card - You are ready for travel in 2014.

If you only travel on a Rural School Bus or a Special Needs bus service where no fare is charged, you do not need a Greencard.


STUDENTS ELIGIBLE FOR FREE TRAVEL ON A BUS WHERE FARES ARE PAID
If you don't already have a Greencard OR your Free Travel Greencard is expiring at the end of 2013,

STUDENTS WHO PAY A FARE ON
Metro, Merseylink or Tassielink who don't have a Greencard or Smart Card can APPLY directly to the operator.

ALL OTHER OPERATORS
To get a new Student Greencard

When you travel by bus and show your Greencard you will pay a discount fare of $1.00, without the Greencard a maximum fare of $1.30 applies.
