Intended Audience: Teacher Assistants and Teachers

Two presenters have been invited to share their knowledge and expertise with educators prior to the commencement of the 2014 school year.
  1. Protective Behaviours Workshop with Nicola Crates. (The information is suitable for educators working across a variety of settings and needs).
  2. Structured Visual Supports with Kate Wilson. (TEACCH programme).

Protective Behaviours:-
Nicole, an informative and engaging presenter, will provide participants with strategies for increasing their effectiveness when working in crisis situations. Settings and needs may include trauma, acquired brain injury, autistic disorder and intellectual disability.

Structured Visual Supports:-
Kate Wilson is an experienced educator who works across State, Catholic and Independent systems as an Autism Consultant. TEACCH is an evidence-based, child centred approach that assists students gain understanding and independence through the use of structured visual supports.
