The emphasis will be on Swing, Latin and Funk styles and improvisation.

Students will be mentored by some of the country's most respected performers and educators.

The Summer School is non-residential and open to players of varying abilities and ages from upper primary school through to Year 12 and beyond and is open to musicians who play Stage Band/ Big Band instruments including vocalists).

In 2014, the Stage Band Summer School will run three bands, the Ellington Band, the Basie Band and for the first time the SUPER BAND! This is an exciting extension in the continuing development of the Summer School program and will provide a stimulating opportunity for those students who are selected.

The benefits of having three bands include more time with mentors, more sectional work and more instrument specific master classes.
