Student programs 'Illumination: the art of Philip Wolfhagen'

Intended Audience: Primary school, secondary and college students

Bring your students to TMAG and take part in one of our free art education programs associated with the stunning temporary painting exhibition 'Illumination: the art of Philip Wolfhagen'. Three different programs on offer, depending on grade level.

Guided tour of 'Illumination: the art of Philip Wolfhagen' for Primary School groups:
Let our Art Educator lead you group on a tour through three galleries of amazing paintings. Discuss the works and respond creatively through art-making activities right there in the gallery. Free, all materials provided.
Duration: 45min

Wolfhagen welcome talk for Secondary and College groups:
A staff member will meet your group in the exhibition to help focus the eyes and minds. A brief floor talk will introduce relevant facts and ideas, and answers queries in order to support students to make informed personal interpretations during free exploration afterwards. Free.
Duration: 20 minutes

Painting technique workshop for Secondary & College groups:
A guided tour of the exhibition 'Illumination: the art of Philip Wolfhagen' followed by a practical painting workshop in which students will investigate key materials, techniques, inspirations and subject matter of this acclaimed Tasmanian artist.
Duration: 2 hours
