26TEN is being celebrated with a week of special events running from Saturday 26 October to Friday 1 November 2013. Many businesses, community and government organisations will take part by holding activities across the state. Join in this celebration of 26TEN’s one year anniversary through attending an event or hosting one of your own.

26TEN events will range from morning teas to photographic and poetry competitions, 26TEN pop-up shop fronts and activities, guest speakers, gardening activities, adult story time, jelly bean counting competitions and many more.
The 26TEN Network is growing rapidly as more and more organisations start to mobilise. More than 100 Tasmanian businesses, community and government organisations have now joined, or are working toward becoming a member of the 26TEN Network. Members are taking action to improve literacy skills and promote plain English in their workplace and communities.

Want to get involved? It’s a simple as:
  • Holding a morning tea for your staff, volunteers or clients
  • Inviting learners or local champions to share their stories about their learning journey
  • Asking staff to wear their 26TEN badge and tell 4 people about 26TEN
  • Decorating your office space in 26TEN colours for the week
  • Dressing in red and blue for a day
Be creative, join in the celebrations and help raise awareness about 26TEN
