Location: Sandy Bay
Date of Event: 30 Sept - 2 Oct; 2 Nov          RSVP: 20 Sept

Intended Audience: Year 5 - 10 teachers who are teaching science

This professional learning opportunity is for primary and secondary teachers (Yr 5 – 10) who wish to update and broaden their science content knowledge and to consider how they might incorporate this knowledge as they implement the Australian Curriculum in their classroom.

The program will include current developments in science research ("hot topics") at UTAS – such as food security, climate change impacts in the marine environment, conservation biology, renewable energy, and radioastronomy. Content will include lectures, hands-on activities and site visits. We will consider approaches that help students engage with science concepts and become effective science learners. You’ll be asked to trial tasks in your classroom before the November review session.
