Intended Audience: Teachers, Educators, Researchers, Government Departments

Ausdance National and Ausdance VIC are hosting the Dance Education in Australian Schools (DEAS) Roundtable 2013, to discuss the new National Arts Curriculum at The Arts Centre Melbourne in September.

We are inviting you to attend this exciting conference as an opportunity to immerse yourself in all things Dance and Education over 3 days with a particular interest in resources and tools to help teachers to deliver dance in schools. It's a chance for dance companies to share their educational practice (how they roll out their programs) along with how we can learn more about successful program delivery and different approaches to dance education, now and in the future.

Key note speakers include: Linda Lorenza (ACARA), Dr Brian Caldwell (Educational Transformations) and Jeff Meiners (School of Education - University of South Australia).

Presenting Dance Companies include: The Australian Ballet, Sydney Dance Company, Restless Dance Theatre and TasDance.

Ausdance National in partnership with Ausdance Victoria invite: teachers, educational leaders, researchers, departmental officers and dance educators to attend the Dance Education in Australian School (DEAS) Roundtable 2013. With a focus on "best practice" in the classroom, and the opportunity to engage with professional dance companies offering education programs, DEAS 2013 is a great opportunity to share knowledge in preparation for implementation of the new National Arts Curriculum.

The new National Curriculum: Arts, endorsed by all state and territory education ministers and the federal minister in late July 2013, provides the opportunity for every Australian student to engage with quality learning experiences in five arts areas - including dance.
