Winner of Tasmanian Teacher Librarian of the Year, 2013

Tasmanian Teacher Librarian of the Year Nominee Award, 2013

ASLA (Tasmania) is pleased to announce the Tasmanian nominee for the distinguished national award of Australian Teacher Librarian of the Year :

Catherine Duffett (Tasmanian Teacher Librarian of the Year, 2013)

Catherine Duffett is one of three Teacher librarians at The Hutchins School. The independent day and boarding school for boys is situated in Sandy Bay and caters for approximately 1,000 students. Catherine’s dedication to learning and teaching across the School community from Kindergarten to Year 12 is evident in her teaching style and the support she provides through the promotion of resources and assisting other teachers to incorporate information literacy skills into units of work. Catherine’s role enables her to actively participate in all three libraries over the three campuses and demonstrates her leadership and initiative across the full spectrum of her responsibilities. Her dedication and professionalism are evident in the creative literature programs she initiates as well as her implementation of digital learning and information literacy.
