Hydro Tasmania and Greening Australia have partnered up to deliver a hands on inquiry into the health of your catchment. Students and teachers can investigate their local waterway and understand the impact different users have on water health and water management.

Greening Australia offers three 90 minute, hands on sessions, including a visit to your school and invitation to the new Sustainability Learning Centre at Mt Nelson.
The facilitated sessions occur over a term, while the class works independently on their own investigations and discoveries. A Resource Pack is provided to aid classroom planning.

Water for Life sessions:
  1. What is a catchment? We provide hands-on learning and discovery in the school grounds.
  2. Who uses the water? This uses interactive storytelling and case studies on water management innovations and is held at the Sustainability Learning Centre, Mt Nelson.
  3. Water Life. Together we discover what lives in our catchment, including water bugs.
The program supports Australian Curriculum outcomes for Science and Geography.

Water for Life is available to all schools in Tasmania at no cost.
