Gorgeous Science Week Exhibition

Intended Audience: open to students from Summerdale, West Launceston, Glen Dhu, Sacred Heart, Trevallyn, Riverside and St Anthony's Primary Schools, Prospect and Riverside High, St Patricks College, Launceston Christian School and Launceston College

Science Week isn't far away and we would like to invite you to be part of our very first Gorgeous Science Week Exhibition.

To be included students need to create a 2D, 3D or digital artwork that:
  • addresses the Schools theme A Century of Australian Science or looks at a scientific aspect of the Cataract Gorge Reserve.
  • is any type of media - drawing, painting, photography, model etc.
  • all 2D artwork must either be able to fit inside an A4 or A3 frame or can be hung by other means.
  • 3D artwork cannot be bigger than 800mm x 800mm x 800mm
  • digital works needs to be original and must be submitted by either email or on a usb.
Each school can submit between 5-7 works depending on size. Each artwork needs to be accompanied by an artist's statement - details of art work, why the student has chosen to do the work and how it reflects either theme.

Schools may be asked to submit additional works depending upon other submissions.

Work needs to be submitted to the Basin Cottage, Basin Road, West Launceston by 11am Monday 5 August. Artwork will be on display in our gallery for the entire month of August. Students will be invited to an opening on a date to be confirmed.
