Hobart International Chess Club Logo Design Competition

Intended Audience: Grades 3 to 12

The Hobart International Chess Club (HICC) with its associated junior club (HIJCC) is on the hunt for a brand new logo, and we want your students to help us out.

The HICC is therefore holding a competition, open to all students, calling on entrants to put forth a unique design for the HICC to use as its new official logo.

The rules for the HICC/HIJCC logo competition will be as follows:

1. The competition is open to all school students in southern Tasmania from grades 3 to 12.
2. Printed and digital entries are permitted:
    a. Printed entries should be no greater than standard a4 size and should not be folded.
    i. Printed entries do not have to be computer generated.
    b. Digital entries should be a .JPEG file of 3Mb or less.
3. Entries must have either the words "Hobart International Chess Club", or the acronym "H.I.C.C." clearly visible as part of the design.
4. Entries should include material that is directly related to chess.
    a. Entries also incorporating material identifiable as typically southern Tasmanian would be preferred.
5. Printed entries are to be submitted via post directly to the HICC president and post marked on or before the closing date. Digital entries are to be submitted via e-mail on or before the closing date.

6. The competition is open from now until the 5th of July 2013. The winning entry will be decided on the 22nd of July.
The winning entrant will have their design adopted as the official HICC logo to be used in advertising at formal events and on all HICC material, both digital and printed. The winning entrant will also have their name and school printed in recognition wherever the logo is used.
The winner will also receive 1 choice of the following 3 prizes
  • $80 cash
  • 1 years free enrollment with the HIJCC (valued at $80)
  • 2 hours of professional chess coaching from HICC members (valued at $80)
 These prizes will be presented to them by an HICC official at a convenient time negotiated with their school.
