Winner of the inaugural Doreen Hopkins’ Medal

On behalf of the Tasmanian branch of the Australian School Library Association (ASLA), I am pleased to congratulate David Morris, Head of Library and Information Services at Scotch Oakburn College, for winning the inaugural Doreen Hopkins’ Medal.

This award recognises Teacher librarians who have made an outstanding contribution to school libraries and the professional standing of school librarianship within Tasmania.

David's longstanding commitment to the work of ASLA at both the local and the national level have been an inspiration to his colleagues. He has demonstrated commitment, dedication and professionalism at the highest level, making significant contributions to teaching and learning throughout his career and helping to raise the profile of the profession. David is a worthy recipient of this prestigious award.
