This practical, hands-on workshop will give you confidence when choosing apps for language and early literacy. Learn how to choose apps for their curriculum connection, authenticity, feedback, user friendliness and motivation.

This is particularly relevant for teachers considering making reasonable adjustments to the Australian Curriculum for English.

Participants can bring along their own iPad and will enjoy spending time getting to know some highly useful apps for language and literacy. This workshop follows evidence based practice in language and literacy.

Topics include:
  • Language: vocabulary, parts of speech, grammar, sentences, story telling, conversation, non-literal language, and comprehension.
  • Early Literacy: phonemic awareness, rhyming, syllables, written vocabulary, sight words, spelling using letter names, phonics, creating books and reading comprehension.
Learn how to embed learning using these apps into your classroom program.
