Legacy Junior Public Speaking Awards (L.J.P.S.A.) 2013 - regional finals 9 & 23 August

Intended Audience: Secondary, all principals, English teachers, Drama teachers Public speaking teachers and families.

The L.J.P.S.A. is a national competition conducted through Australian Secondary Schools and colleges for competitors aged 12 - 14 years at 1 January 2013.

The aim of the L.J.P.S.A. is to enhance the oral communication and public speaking skills of 12 - 14 year old students and to help young people appreciate the ideals of Legacy.

The format for the competition consists of a prepared speech of 5 minutes on a topic of the competitors' choice within the subject criteria, voluntary service, caring and comradeship and the need for remembrance.

This is followed by a 2 minute Impromptu Speech on a topic chosen by the organisers.
Launceston Legacy Inc. hosts the Tasmanian competition. Regional Finals will be held in :
  • Launceston on Friday, 9 August 2013
  • Hobart on Friday, 23 August 2013.
The State Final will be held in Launceston on Friday 20 September 2013.

The National Final will be held in Sydney on Monday 18 November 2013.
