Hooked! from the Mountain Dragon to the Handfish - Community Art Exhibition

Some of the students from the local North-West Schools have been involved in Cradle Coast NRM's Hooked! workshops during the schools holidays in June and September 2012; and recently in April-May 2013.

Please find attached an invitation to the "Hooked! from the Mountain Dragon to the Handfish" Exhibition Opening at Burnie Regional Art Gallery, which takes place on Friday 31 May at 6.30pm. The exhibition will be on display from 25 May - 30 June 2013.

The Hooked! exhibition is the grand finale of a community arts and environment project run by Cradle Coast Natural Resource Management. Hooked! - an investigation of Tasmania's natural environment; inspiring participants to think about our unique flora and fauna in a new light.

The project `Hooked!-in' over 9,000 hits on the Hooked! Facebook page; and 230 workshop participants, of all ages and craft skill levels from the North-West Tasmanian region; who contributed to the exhibition; with over 370 fibre-artworks produced.

Hooked! was funded by Cradle Coast NRM through the Australian Government's Caring for Our Country and was assisted by sponsorship from Tasmanian Alkaloids, and grants from the Tasmanian Community Fund and Inspiring Australia.

The very popular exhibition, Artrage, will also be opened on the night, and showcases outstanding works by year 11 and 12 Tasmanian college students.
