Accessing public dental services for children and adolescents

Intended Audience: All schools; families
  • All children and adolescents under 18 years of age, including pre-schoolers can access this service.
  • All children and adolescents receive free examinations and preventive care.
  • Treatment following the examination is free if the child is covered by a current Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card. 
  • Treatment following the examination will incur a co-payment if the child is not covered by a current Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card.
  • Medicare Teen Dental Vouchers can be used at any of the public dental clinics for preventive care.
  • Payment options are available.
