Invitation: Australian Government Asian Century White Paper: Public consultations on country strategies

The Australian Government is seeking public input to assist in developing the Australia in the Asian Century country strategies for Japan, China, Indonesia, India and South Korea. The country strategies will contribute to development of a whole-of-Australia approach to strengthening relations with key regional partners across all levels of government, institutions and the community. The strategies will be forward-looking documents outlining a vision of where the relationships should be in 2025, and how Australia intends to get there.

The session will include a presentation by DFAT Assistant Secretary Allaster Cox about developing the country strategies, and an overview of each of the five strategies, followed by an open discussion forum where participants are encouraged to share their experiences, plans and ideas. In particular, we would like to discuss initiatives that are already being implemented or are planned that contribute to achieving White Paper objectives. The full White Paper is available at http://asiancentury.dpmc.gov.au/white-paper.
