School Fairs and other events in the Launceston City Council area

Attention: School Fair Organising Committees

If you are planning a school fair or other event, the Launceston City Council provides a service that can assist your organising committee to meet the relevant regulatory requirements so that your patrons can relax and enjoy themselves and then go home safely at the end of the event.

To comply with applicable State and Federal legislation, there are a number of applications that are required to be submitted when organising a School Fair.

To assist schools with this, the Launceston City Council has outlined below the necessary applications.

1. Place of Assembly - Specific Event application - this is to be submitted no later than one (1) month prior to the event date*.

2. Temporary Occupancy Application - this is required if the event is having structures (e.g. marquee, tent, booth, gazebo etc) - this is to be submitted no later than one (1) month prior to the event date

3. Temporary Food Business application - this is to be submitted no later than ten (10) working days prior to the event date*.
